PrintCHECK

PrintCHECK · AI check review

Catch duplicate and unusual payments before the checks are printed

A duplicate vendor payment is easy to make and slow to get back. PrintCHECK reviews every batch before it reaches paper, flags what looks wrong, and tells you why in one plain-English sentence — without ever getting in the way of printing.

What the review looks for

Each check in the batch is compared with your own check history in PrintCHECK. The rules are fixed and repeatable — the same data always gives the same result — so a finding is something you can trace, not a model's hunch.

  • Possible duplicate: the same QuickBooks bill or document on more than one check
  • Unusual amount: far outside the median you usually pay that vendor
  • New payee: the first check ever to this payee
  • Changed after numbering: edited in QuickBooks after it got a check number

Where the AI fits — and where it doesn't

Not done by AI

  • Deciding what counts as a finding
  • Calculating medians or matching documents
  • Blocking or changing a check
  • Seeing your bank or routing numbers

Done by AI

  • Writing the one-sentence explanation of each finding
  • Summarizing the batch before you print
  • Understanding plain-English questions in Ask

How a flagged batch works

  1. 01

    Select checks to print

Pick the checks as usual; the review runs on the batch.

  2. 02

    Read the findings

Each flag shows the payee, the amount and why it was flagged.

  3. 03

    Decide

Remove a check from the batch, or accept the finding with a reason.

  4. 04

    Print

A flagged batch prints exactly as readily as a clean one. Accepted findings do not come back.

What leaves your account

AI can be switched off entirely in Settings. With it off, every check still runs and every finding still shows, with standard wording.

Sent to explain a finding

  • Payee name
  • Amount
  • Check date

Never sent

  • Bank account and routing numbers
  • Memos and addresses
  • Anything about your bank

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Will the AI stop a check from printing?

No. Findings are warnings. You can remove a check from the batch or accept the finding with a reason, and the batch prints either way.

Is the review the same every time?

Yes. Findings come from fixed rules against your check history, so the same data always gives the same findings. Only the wording of the explanation is written by AI.

What if a flagged check is fine?

Accept it with a short reason, and that finding will not be raised again.
